Title: LYRASIS Announces Extension of Flat Rate Renewal with LexisNexis on Behalf of ICOLC
Date: February 2010
Vendor: LYRASIS
Press Release:
Atlanta, GA, -- February 5, 2010 -- Last year, LexisNexis supported the ICOLC Global Economic Crisis Statement by agreeing to waive their 2.5% annual increase on LexisNexis products associated with the ICOLC aggregation. As a result, subscribers to these LexisNexis products renewed at a high renewal rate.
In recognition of this loyalty and to show continued support of the ICOLC Global Economic Crisis Statement, LYRASIS has once again asked LexisNexis to agree to a flat renewal for the next renewal year. We are excited to announce that LexisNexis has agreed. Consequently, the cost will remain flat for members of the aggregation for one more year regardless of FTE changes. Details regarding the renewal process will be forthcoming from LYRASIS within the next two weeks.
In addition, for those libraries that subscribe to both LexisNexis Statistical - Base Edition and LexisNexis Statistical Research Tables products, the renewal price decreased effective January 1, 2010. This price decrease has been applied to current agreements and LexisNexis is in the process of issuing credits to current subscribers. The decrease is a result of the combination of these two products to form LexisNexis Statistical Insight Tables.
"This announcement, once again, is a testament to the power of ICOLC and LexisNexis working together to get information organizations through these tough financial times. LYRASIS is honored to have been chosen to play such a significant role, and is very pleased with the outcome," commented Ed McBride, Chief Member Engagement Officer at LYRASIS.
"LexisNexis values its close ties to the library community and will continue to be a supportive and responsive vendor to them during this difficult economic period," stated Laura Salmon, Vice President, Library Research Solutions at LexisNexis.
Last year, LYRASIS discovered that the savings realized from a flat renewal is substantial, but not sufficient for all participants. "LYRASIS will continue to work with our vendor partners to secure sustainable pricing for our members. We recognize and commend the LexisNexis leadership for their response and ongoing support of the ICOLC Global Economic Crisis Statement," added LYRASIS CEO Kate Nevins.
